Home Assistant with ZeroCore S3 + Voice DSP+

Looking for the XMOS voice assistant? Install the ESP32 application from the RASPIAUDIO App Store. ZeroCore S3 then manages the XMOS audio firmware automatically. Connect the ZeroCore S3 USB port, not the XMOS USB port.

Open the Home Assistant installer on apps.raspiaudio.com (Beta)

For standalone USB audio without an ESP32, use the updater below.

1. Choose a USB mode

2. Connect Voice DSP+

Connect the board over USB, keep it powered during the update, then choose the XMOS device in the browser picker.

3. Install firmware

I understand that unplugging the board during flashing can leave the firmware incomplete.

Compatibility Notes

Use Chrome or Chromium from HTTPS, or from localhost during development.
If Windows refuses access to the DFU interface, use the documented dfu-util fallback.
If the failed shortcut firmware cannot be recovered by WebUSB, first use the Windows DFU rescue ZIP.
If that rescue sees 20B1:4FBA but fails with Cannot set alternate interface: LIBUSB_ERROR_IO, USB recovery is probably broken by that test firmware. A factory alt 0 diagnostic ZIP is archived, but the reliable recovery path is Raspberry Pi SPI boot or XTAG.
